Hi

Just got a new HP Pavilion laptop running Windows 8 and it has already become infected with the Advance Elite malware which is causing continual pop-ups in my web browsers. Norton doesn't seem to find or repair this software.

I have ran the aswMBR scan but was unable to run Farbar as my Norton detected it was unsafe and deleted the file.

This is the log from the aswMBR scan:-

aswMBR version 1.0.1.2201 Copyright© 2014 AVAST Software
Run date: 2014-11-14 10:51:28
-----------------------------
10:51:28.816    OS Version: Windows x64 6.2.9200
10:51:28.816    Number of processors: 4 586 0x4501
10:51:28.816    ComputerName: LAPTOP  UserName:
10:51:30.741    Initialize success
10:51:31.007    VM: initialized successfully
10:51:31.007    VM: Intel CPU BiosDisabled
10:54:26.533    AVAST engine defs: 14111301
10:54:53.041    The log file has been saved successfully to "C:\Users\Stephen\OneDrive\Documents\aswMBR.txt"
10:55:38.748    The log file has been saved successfully to "C:\Users\Stephen\Desktop\aswMBR.txt"

This is a really annoying piece of malware and any help or advice will be most gratefully received.

Reagrds

Steve

Well I just ran ADW Cleaner and it seems to have done the trick. Brought up a whole host of Advance Elite, Astromenda and Pokii files to delete. I did and hey presto everything seems o.k.

Will report back if it all goes pear shaped again.
