Hello there.

Before I had created this topic, regarding my computer crashing during spyware checks. The issues I had seemed to be resolved at the time.

However it seems now my computer is crashing almost every single day, and when it does it's sometimes up to 4-5 times in a day. Every single time upon rebooting I look in the task manager and the "Windows Module Installer Worker" is doing something, so I assume that every single time Windows automatically updates (which seems to be very often), my computer crashes. Is this normal? I don't think it is, but it is in fact very frustrating, bordering on infuriating. When the Installer Worker is in operation (which can last for hours) it seems I can't run my web browser or any other programs like games without the system shutting down. Is this perhaps a malware issue? Can anyone help me?

Hi
Looking over logs there really doesn't look to be anything related to malware, of course it can be hidden but, looking over errors I can see

Error: (11/08/2017 10:22:56 PM) (Source: Microsoft-Windows-WindowsUpdateClient) (EventID: 20) (User: NT AUTHORITY)
Description: Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070002: 2017-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4041691).
The above points to a botched/bad windows update.
You can read over the links below to see reports that have comein over the issues.

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it."

The list just goes on and on.

We can run a quick scan

[external image: RQKuhw1.png]RogueKiller

  • Download the right version of RogueKiller for your Windows version (32 or 64-bit)
  • Once done, move the executable file to your Desktop, right-click on it and select [external image: Spcusrh.png]Run as Administrator (for Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 users)
  • Click on the Start Scan button in the right panel, which will bring you to another tab, and click on it again (this time it'll be in the bottom right corner)
  • Wait for the scan to complete
  • On completion, the results will be displayed
  • Check every single entry (threat found), and click on the Remove Selected button
  • On completion, the results will be displayed. Click on the Open Report button in the bottom left corner, followed by the Open TXT button (also in the bottom left corner)
  • This will open the report in Notepad. Copy/paste its content in your next reply

If it is a Windows Update issue, would there be a solution for that?

Also I didn't realize this might be relevant, but just to be clear: when I say my computer crashes, I don't mean I get a BSOD; I mean the computer just shuts down, as if it suddenly lost power, and I have to turn it on again.

Please find attached the requested log. Thanks for your help!

no, many have been left stranded from what I've read.

Laptop run hot?
Battery charge as it should?
Look through event viewer?

This kinda sounds like it could be related to hardware, what of course I don't know but,  I can steer you in the direction of techs who have more knowledge of what to do and what to look for then I do.

Shouldn't take long once they see a topic started.
If you would, start a new topic here and let's see if they can diagnose whats going on here.
