Running XP SP3, used Comodo many years. Last night, updated version offered and I installed. This morning, cpu is runaway, could hardly do anything at all. Also running Malwarebytes, no problem. Disabled Comodo processes, still seem to have runaway cpu. No help from Comodo, referred me to a $200 site. When Iwshut down and revoot, I get a blue screen after login; a second boot works, but still high cpu. Any solutions appreciated.

Thx,

Shneor

I would uninstall Comodo completely, then reboot and see how it looks. If okay, then, if you still want it, re-install Comodo.

What Comodo program, btw?

Why do you think a reinstall won't cause the same problem??

I used Comodo Firewall (free). The upgrade should not have been for more, but you can never tell.

Also noticed True Image using lots of cpu, tried to ininstall, and it jost won't.

I'll try to uninstall Comodo, but it may be difficult, from what I have read.

Thx for responding.

It might but reinstalling an offending program "often" fixes a corrupt installation or upgrade. Note I said, "see how it works" and "if okay", suggest it might, or might not work.

Which is one reason I stopped using Comodo products. While security programs set deep hooks, they (any program) should always uninstall completely. Just remember to reboot after installing as that will (should) clear any remaining hooks that cannot be cleared while the OS is still running.

Since you are also having problems with other programs, even though MBAM showed up clean, it might be a good idea to have a malware removal expert take a look at your system. See WhattheTech Malware Removal Help.
