Every time, about an hour or so after turning my computer on and doing some tasks, playing some games,

my computer crashes and I can literally hear some robotic sounds from my PC - sort of like a robot failure.

When it crashes, the last sound which I hear from the computer repeats it self extremely fast and the screen goes black.

My monitor then says DVI not found so I trace back to where the cable from my monitor to my pc leads to and it leads to my graphics card.

I have to restart several times before I can finally get display on the monitor, where it happens again and crashes.

Please Help

Hi hoteret, sorry to hear of the problem with your screen/video.

Here are some suggestions for your consideration:

1 Make sure that both ends of the cable twixt computer and and VDU (screen) are fully home, tight and with the retaining screws tightened correctly… make and break the connection several times (both ends) to make sure that the contacts are "cleaned" …..test, and if still no joy try a new cable.

2 Borrow a known good working VDU (screen) and cable and see if the problem continues when using them.

3 Boot your computer into "safe mode" and see if the problems continues.

4 Boot your computer from a Live distro of Linux ( Puppy is good) and see if the problem continues.

Post back and let us know the results and we will advise the next steps.

Regards
