A friend of mine had this happen to him Saturday too. He did as they asked and they told him he had over 3000 errors showing in Event Viewer. Fortunately he panicked, hung up and brought his computer to me rather than giving them money.
I told him he was being scammed and all computers have errors in Event Viewer and if they call again, feel free to curse them and hang up ![]()
Any unsolicited phone calls advising your computer is infected are definitely scams. Not answering their questions and hanging up the phone is the best way to deal with these scammers in my opinion.
