Can't update or load web pages,freezing,shutting down,black screen

Hi- Well I "deleted" Mozilla Firefox files. 'Programs and Features' would not let me uninstall. I will not be reinstalling Mozilla at this time. As far as IE, I cannot find where to uninstall it. It is not listed in Prog and Features. So Ive been trying to follow the microsoft website instructions to uninstall. which says to uninstall thru 'recent updates' in 'Prog and Featues'. So I have tried to uninstall both IE8 and IE9 and when the computer reboots it automatically updates back to the same IE9 I had, which of course immed freezes. So its not giving me the opportunity to reinstall it. Maybe Ill try updating to IE10. …..or tossing it in the trash and remain on my iphone forever! (just kidding)

• Within the text box that jus opened, write cmd and hit Enter.

For Windows Vista/7:

• Press the Windows key to open the start menu.
• Don´t highlight anything, just write cmd.
• The start menu will offer you an entry named cmd.
• Right click it and select "run as administrator"

Within the opening window, write the following:

sfc /scannow

(See the blank within).

• Hit enter. Your system will be checked for damaged system files.
• Tell me the result of that scan in here (as the tool produces no log).

I ran the scan, This is what it said: Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS.log. For example c:\windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log The system file repair will take effect after next reboot. So it didnt tell me what files it will fix. I will talk to you soon.

Windows Repair (all-in-one)

Please download Windows Repair (all in one) from here.

Install the program then run it.

Go to step 2 and allow it to run Disk check.

Once that is done then go to step 3 and allow it to run SFC by clicking Do it

On the Start Repairs tab, click Start.
Within the opening window, hit unselect all.
Check only the following:

• Reset Registry Permissions
• Reset File Permissions
• Register System Files
• Repair Windows Firewall
• Repair Windows Updates

then click on Start

DON'T use the computer while each scan is in progress.

Restart may be needed to finish the repair procedure.

HI there - sorry that was forever. Well IE loads, then if i try to go to any other page it freezes and has to be recovered. Once recovered it takes forever, then freezes again, if i open another tab, it works fine. As far as everything else, it seems to be working good!

Try to obtain the latest IE from microsoft and install it over the existing one.
