hello everyone, i thought i lost my iPad since last time I look it was in my drawer. i was fuming mad. unknowingly my younger brother had fun with it and placed it in the cubboard to forget about it. (what a jerk). well, now things have compounded as he run to the kitchen and reach for the iOS device, it slipped as he was holding a glass of water (so he say). Now I have to contend with an iPad 2 that won't turn on. worse, it's out of warranty. can anyone help me?

Sorry if it's been dropped, and more so if come into contact with water, being such a small unit the only real option is to take it to a repair shop (make sure you agree terms and prices first), they can't work for free, but they can't tell you for sure what's going on until they get inside it, and by this time it may be cheaper to just get a new one, so make sure you are clear in what will happen, because if you decide it will cost too much they will still need paying for what they have done to that point, and consider this compared to buying a new, maybe 2nd hand one (if you find one), hope you get a result from this.

thanks 8210GUY. way to go!

yeah I think it would be cheaper to get a new one. however, I am thinking of learning how to get into the device, one beyond just jailbreaking it. do you think it's a good idea if I practice on it?

with other people's help of course.

Subjects such as jail breaking are not allowed here, and due to the risk of electrical fire, or even explosion from the batteries (yes it's possible, and it's scary seeing it happen), we can only recommend qualified people opening up such a unit, cables are minimal due to storage space, and can be very short, it would be easy for a cable to pull out without you noticing if it were that short, and putting cables back in the wrong place could cause the aforementioned, as such we can't say you would be safe to do such things, just advise taking it to someone who does know what they are doing, with small kit like this we can't really advise anything less than this, but hope you find a repair place who can help without costing the earth.
