No Bueno! Same thing, windows can't start. So I guess I'm SOL without the Windows Disc? Is that something I could get from Acer?
Hi gcdi, Sorry for the delay getting back to you. I have been seeing if any of my colleagues have any other ides we haven't tried yet. One idea was to verify you have the laptop plugged into the wall outlet (not the battery) when trying to do the restore. Some systems will not function unless the computer is plugged in.
Hi gcdi,

Unfortunately, the only other information I could find was to check the hard drive. But since you are unable to download any programs to the computer that doesn't appear to be an option. I didn't receive any additional suggestions either on how to resolve the issue.

You could contact Acer, they may have a suggestion. Live Chat : http://acer.custhelp.com/app/chat/pre_chat_launch - Available daily: 5AM to 2AM CST

If not here is the information to purchase the Recovery media necessary

Purchase Recovery Media

Use the following steps to purchase recovery media.
  • Visit our Acer Store, then select eRecovery.
  • Enter your serial number or SNID, then click Submit
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to make your purchase.
Let me know if you have any other questions
Hi gcdi,

It's being confirmed that this issue sounds like a hard disk issue. Some additional suggestions have been brought to my attention.

It has been suggested that each Acer customer is allowed one "free" copy of e-recovery, Acer's recovery media …… Go here and check if you are eligible …. https://store.acer.com/store?Action=Display…p;SiteID=acerna if so contact Acer for a copy.

If you would like to try and see if you can recover your personal files and folders using a Linux Distro.
Here is a brief instruction for how to do this at …. http://malwareremoval.com/forum/viewtopic….=618146#p618146

If this is a hard disk issue recovery of the files might not be possible, but might be worth a try before it fails completely.
