Thanks to a few friends i found out about this place. Ive done the lot. I've ran HiJackThis and About:Buster, after that i went into sfe mode in XP and deleted the offending .dll in the /system32 folder. I also cleared out the temp folder (all of them, even in documents and settings), i've ran ToniArts EasyCleaner and cleared out everthing, i've ran Adaware and norton antivirus along with SpyBot Search and destroy. I've been doing it for a week, yet about every 5 or 6 hours…it comes back :( So now i'm in here, cause, basically im now lost. Heres my HiJack This log for your viewing pleasure…i hope someone can figure this out cause it has me completely stumped. ======================================= Logfile of HijackThis v1.98.0 Scan saved at 02:35:12, on 20/07/2004 Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe C:\PROGRA~1\ZONELA~1\ZONEAL~1\zlclient.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\E_S10IC2.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccEvtMgr.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\EPSON\EBAPI\SAgent2.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Symantec\NORTON~1\GHOSTS~2.EXE C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\navapsvc.exe C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\AdvTools\NPROTECT.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\nvsvc32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZoneLabs\vsmon.exe C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe C:\Program Files\teamspeak2_RC2\TeamSpeak.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\GlobalSCAPE\CuteFTP Professional\ftpte.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Victor\Desktop\HijackThis.exe R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Victor\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Victor\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Victor\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Victor\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Victor\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Victor\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank O2 - BHO: Google Toolbar Helper - {AA58ED58-01DD-4d91-8333-CF10577473F7} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar1.dll O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B7AE1B10-AF09-49BB-B89E-F188F4BC9A46} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\lbpc.dll O3 - Toolbar: Norton AntiVirus - {42CDD1BF-3FFB-4238-8AD1-7859DF00B1D6} - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\NavShExt.dll O3 - Toolbar: &Google - {2318C2B1-4965-11d4-9B18-009027A5CD4F} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar1.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ccApp] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ccRegVfy] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccRegVfy.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Advanced Tools Check] C:\PROGRA~1\NORTON~1\AdvTools\ADVCHK.EXE O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SiSUSBRG] C:\WINDOWS\SiSUSBrg.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Cmaudio] RunDll32 cmicnfg.cpl,CMICtrlWnd O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvCplDaemon] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvMediaCenter] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvMcTray.dll,NvTaskbarInit O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Zone Labs Client] C:\PROGRA~1\ZONELA~1\ZONEAL~1\zlclient.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NeroCheck] C:\WINDOWS\System32\NeroCheck.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [EPSON Stylus C42 Series] C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\E_S10IC2.EXE /P23 "EPSON Stylus C42 Series" /O6 "USB001" /M "Stylus C42" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DAEMON Tools-1033] "C:\Program Files\D-Tools\daemon.exe" -lang 1033 O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CTFMON.EXE] C:\WINDOWS\System32\ctfmon.exe O4 - Global Startup: Adobe Gamma Loader.lnk = C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Calibration\Adobe Gamma Loader.exe O8 - Extra context menu item: &Google Search - res://C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbar1.dll/cmsearch.html O8 - Extra context menu item: Backward Links - res://C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbar1.dll/cmbacklinks.html O8 - Extra context menu item: Cached Snapshot of Page - res://C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbar1.dll/cmcache.html O8 - Extra context menu item: Similar Pages - res://C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbar1.dll/cmsimilar.html O8 - Extra context menu item: Translate into English - res://C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbar1.dll/cmtrans.html O18 - Filter: text/html - {2EB2AE1E-5754-4F82-A2B9-88ACB4D80C2F} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\lbpc.dll O18 - Filter: text/plain - {2EB2AE1E-5754-4F82-A2B9-88ACB4D80C2F} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\lbpc.dll ================================================== Just to give you arun down on what i usually do to get rid of it for 5 or 6 hours… I run HiJackThis…i get rid of the 018's they direct to the .dll i also get rid of the BHO. Now, ABout:Buster hasnt actually been deleting the dll's half the time. So…i leave the r1's and r0's alone…reset into safe mode, delete the .dll, delete all contents in all temp folder then run HijackThis in safe mode, get rid of the r0's and r1's and reset back into normal mode. It works…for about 5 or 6 hours…then it comes back with a completely different DLL and the best thing is i only visit my own website and a couple of other Star Trek gaming sites. I know i got this about 2 weeks ago when my cousin click on a link that a friend of her's gave her and Norton came up with a Trojan:ByteVerify alert, but it did get stopped, since then the annoying search page and pop up's have been happening.
To anyone other than the originator of this topic: do not use this thread to try to fix your system or anyone elses by copying it - this is not an automatic fix and requires the logs to be properly interpreted.

Click here to download FindnFix.exe (2K/XP only!) by freeatlast. Double-click on the FINDnFIX.exe and it will install a folder called FINDnFIX on your system. Go to that folder and double-click on !LOG!.bat. The program takes a few minutes to collect the necessary information. When done post the contents of Log.txt in this thread.

In the keys1 folder, double click on FIX.bat. You will get an alert of about 15 seconds before reboot - allow it to reboot. On restart, open Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32 folder, find the KBDMKI.DLL file (it should be visible now). Highlight the file and using top menu, click Edit>Move to folder…

Select C:\Findnfix\junkxxx as destination. Move the file.

Open the FINDnFIX folder again and double-click on RESTORE.bat. When it is finished, in FINDnFIX folder, there will be a file called Log2.txt - post it's contents in your next reply.
Done…here we go…

Sounds like a right nasty file, all this hassle is caused by one .dll?
Yes, it is particularly nasty. Open the FINDnFIX folder again and open the Files2 folder. Double-click on the ZIPZAP.bat. It will quickly clean the rest and will make a copy of the bad file(s) in the same folder (junkxxx.zip) and open your email client with instructions. Simply drag and drop the junkxxx.zip file from the folder into the mail message and submit to the specified addresses.

Please be sure to include a link to this thread in the body of your email. Reboot when done, then delete the entire FINDnFIX folder. Could you click here to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'. If you already have CWShredder, click 'Check for update' and make sure you are running version 1.59.1 Reboot when done. Rescan with HJT and post a new log in your next reply.
