amount of free RAM at a point of time

Is there any way to know the amount of free RAM at a specific point of time? I want to know this because I am running a script on one of my VM. When I just restart the VM and start running the script, it runs fine but as some time passes by, it becomes slower and slower and I need to restart the VM to eradicate this issue. I just want to make sure that it is happening due to RAM so is there any way to know the amount of available free RAM after restarting the VM and when the need to restart the VM arises.
