i dont know what happen but when i started my pc today it wouldn't let me load into desktop. on screen it says "isass.exe bad image" "the application or dll c:\windows\system32\dnsapi.dll is not a valid window image. plz check your installation diskette." if passable i dont want to re install windows pc windows xp pack 3
i went online google searched for where i could dl windows .dll and got one. then i use puppy linux to put it in my windows system 32 folder. i know i was taking a big chance on it but i no other options because i did not have the CD to re-install windows. i hope it helps

As you don't have a Microsoft XP install disc it would be wise to take a disc image of your complete hard drive (once you are sure you computer is working well) so in the event of trouble striking in the future you can re image your machine to a good working condition in less time than it takes to walk the dog.

There are paid for applications that will do this for you e.g. Acronis, Paragon, Symantec/Ghost etc or good free programs like Macrium or drive ImageXMl

with a bootable CD and a good disc image with a copy kept safely on removable media…you should be able to overcome practically any software/operating system problem.
