I have commercials/ads playing in my computer background. I tried reseting my computer thinking that would help, but it didn't. As soon as I my computer came back on the ads started up again. I don't know how to get these things to stop. It's really annoying. Please Help. here's my hijack log.

This could be serious, sounds like your infected with a rootkit that possibly infected your Master Boot Record, I need to see a couple of logs

Download aswMBR.exe ( 511KB ) to your desktop.

Double click the aswMBR.exe to run it

Click the "Scan" button to start scan
[external image: Posted Image]

On completion of the scan click save log, save it to your desktop and post in your next reply

Download MBRCheck.exe to your desktop.
  • Be sure to disable your security programs
  • Double click on the file to run it
  • A window will open on your desktop
  • if an unknown bootcode is found you will have further options available to you, at this time press N then press Enter twice.
  • If nothing unusual is found just press Enter
  • A .txt file named MBRCheck_mm.dd.yy_hh.mm.ss should appear on your desktop.
  • Please post the contents of that file.
i took my computer to officemax. come to find out it was the adobe flash player 11.3.300.257 that was causing the ads. once we uninstalled it the ads stopped. now i have to look for another flash player.
Thanks for getting back to me and letting me know. Not sure what the problem is, you may want to post in there forum and maybe a fix or work around is available

http://forums.adobe.com/community/flashplayer

There is a rootkit type of infection that redirects your browser and plays adds through the speakers, I am glad this was not the case with your system. This thread will be closed so if any problems malware related pop up in the future please start a new topic.

  • How did I get infected in the first place ?
Read these links and find out how to prevent getting infected again.
