Hi Aerhon08,
In the light of your answers the steps we can advise you to take are quite limited.
Its good news that you have everything important to you on your computer safely backed up to removable media.
The steps I recommend are:
1 Remove the battery and connect the computer to your electricity supply via the supplied power supply unit in the normal way
2 press and hold down the power on switch for 30 seconds
3 wait for 5 minutes (by the clock, not a second earlier!) then try to start your computer by pressing the power on switch as you would normally do if this start up your computer correctly then rejoice!
4 If it still won't start up correctly then its worth while removing the mains electricity supply (still with the battery removed and again hold down the power on switch for 30 seconds) by the clock, not a second earlier)
5 With the mains electricity supply connected via your normal power supply unit, try to start it up.
6 If still no joy then wait 5 minutes, and with the power supply and battery connected try to start normally but immediately after pushing the power on button start tapping F2 regularly once per second to see if you can get into the BIOS ( sometimes called Set up, or CMOS)
7 You may have to try this several times to make sure your timing is correct….. patience is required….!
8 if still no luck then try the same instructions but start tapping F8 immediately after the power on switch is pressed
9 if still no luck then try the same instructions but using F9
10 if still no luck then you could try borrowing an external CD drive (USB) and try this to use your installation disc…. however its normal to set the BIOS to start boot from CD drive…… and if you cant get into the BIOS to set this boot order, this may not work….nevertheless its worth a try!
11 You could try the same sort of procedure by trying to boot from a USB drive with an operating system installed on it…..(you will need to create a bootable USB flash drive/memory stick for this …
12 it really would be helpful for you to try and find out what operating system you are using….. maybe the installation disc that you have will say?…. Is there a Certificate of Authenticity stuck to the bottom of the computer…. Windows operating systems normally have this….some of these computers were originally shoipped with a Linux operating System and others with Windows…..can you remember which one you have been using?
13 if all these steps fail then I think its time to consult your local competent computer repair technician..she or he will be able to check your machine quite quickly ( in the workshop) and give you an estimate for its repair or an ind89cation if its worth repairing
Let us know how you get on
