Hi,
In the last few days, every couple minutes my browser (Firefox) will fail to load a page. I get the message: "The connection was reset. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." After reloading the page several times it seems to sort itself out. I have tried both my home and work networks, as well as Google Chrome. I also turned off the Windows Firewall momentarily and the problem remained. I haven't noticed issues with other programs/operations.

Malwarebytes found nothing and SUPERAntiSpyware detected and removed about 500 Adware Tracking Cookies.

Any ideas?

THANK YOU!

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to the following:
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad and if required the program will ask you to reboot to remove locked files.

Post the scan results using Copy/Paste
Since I made the initial post, I scanned the computer again using Malwarebytes and SuperANTISpyware in SAFE MODE. Neither program detected anything but since Firefox has been running normally. Could you shed any light on this? Here's the latest scan: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.61.0.1400 www.malwarebytes.org Database version: v2012.04.17.04 Windows 7 Service Pack 1 x64 NTFS Internet Explorer 8.0.7601.17514 Tom :: TOM-PC [administrator] 4/17/2012 9:57:13 AM mbam-log-2012-04-17 (09-57-13).txt Scan type: Quick scan Scan options enabled: Memory | Startup | Registry | File System | Heuristics/Extra | Heuristics/Shuriken | PUP | PUM Scan options disabled: P2P Objects scanned: 213743 Time elapsed: 7 minute(s), 16 second(s) Memory Processes Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Folders Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Files Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) (end)
You should run the MBAM scan in Normal Mode because Safe Mode doesn't load everything that Normal Mode does. Let's see if anything is found when run in Normal Mode.
Seems to be working fine but, as I said, it began working normally again after I ran Malwarebytes in safe mode a few days ago. I am unsure why this is.
