Almost two days ago, I started noticing that my CPU fan was giving more noise the normal. So I thought that maybe something heavy was running and it will go back to normal when its done. But it kept running at full speed all the time and giving loud noise. So I checked resource monitor which showed that CPU usage was almost 100% all the time and that "PING.EXE" was the one to blame. So i suspended it. But i don't know if it's related, but my modem's internet connection Kept going down. So whenever i resume Ping.exe the internet connection works fine, but the CPU is at 100% slow, and the FAN is so LOUD. I saw the other ping.exe topic but thought not to do it myself you never know when you might mess up. Thanks in advance.
Hi Jinx Jack

Welcome to WhattheTech. My name is Blottedisk and I will be helping you with your malware issues. Before we delve into this, please take a look at the following notes:

  • Please subscribe to this topic, if you haven't already. You can subscribe by clicking the Watch Topic button to the right of your topic title and then choosing the notification method ( Recommended: Inmediate Notification)
  • Please avoid installing/uninstalling or updating any programs and attempting any unsupervised fixes or scans. This can make helping you impossible.
  • The forum is busy and we need to have replies as soon as possible. If I haven't had a reply after 3 days I will bump the topic and if you do not reply by the following day after that then the thread will be locked due to inactivity. However, if you will be away, let us know and we will be sure to keep the thread open.

Please follow these steps:

Step 1 | Download DDS from any of the links below:

Link 1
Link 2
Link 2

——————————————————————–
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please disable any anti-malware program that will block scripts from running before running DDS.
  • Double-Click on dds and a command window will appear. This is normal.
  • Shortly after two logs will appear:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • A window will open instructing you save & post the logs.
  • Save the logs to a convenient place such as your desktop.
  • Post the contents of the DDS.txt report in your next reply.
  • Attach the Attach.txt report to your post by scroling down to the Attachments area and then clicking Browse. Browse to where you saved the file, and click Open and then click UPLOAD.

Step 2 | Please download GMER from one of the following locations and save it to your desktop:

Main Mirror - This version will download a randomly named file (Recommended)
Zipped Mirror - This version will download a zip file you will need to extract first. If you use this mirror, please extract the zip file to your desktop.

——————————————————————–

  • Disconnect from the Internet and close all running programs.
  • Temporarily disable any real-time active protection so your security programs will not conflict with gmer's driver.
  • Right-click on the randomly named GMER file (i.e. n7gmo46c.exe) and choose "Run as administrator" to run it. Allow the gmer.sys driver to load if asked.

Note: If you downloaded the zipped version, extract the file to its own folder such as C:\gmer and then right-click on gmer.exe and choose "Run as administrator".

[external image: Posted Image]

  • GMER will open to the Rootkit/Malware tab and perform an automatic quick scan when first run. (do not use the computer while the scan is in progress)
  • If you receive a WARNING!!! about rootkit activity and are asked to fully scan your system…click NO.
  • Make sure these options are all checked:
  • Services
  • Registry
  • Files
  • Systemdrive drive/partition, which is typically C:\
  • ADS

Click the image to enlarge it

  • Now click the Scan button. If you see a rootkit warning window, click OK.
  • When the scan is finished, click the Save… button to save the scan results to your Desktop. Save the file as gmer.log.
  • Click the Copy button and paste the results into your next reply.
  • Exit GMER and re-enable all active protection when done.
– If you encounter any problems, try running GMER in Safe Mode.

Step 3 | Please download aswMBR to your desktop.

  • Double click the aswMBR icon to run it.
Vista and Windows 7 users right click the icon and choose "Run as administrator".
  • Click the Scan button to start scan.
  • When it finishes, press the save log button, save the logfile to your desktop and post its contents in your next reply.

Thanks for the logs.

You are using peer-to-peer programs, specifically uTorrent.
These are what we call an optional removal. However, anytime you are running any type of peer-to-peer application, you are more prone to infection by malware, and this is probably how you became infected in the first place. The choice to remove them is entirely up to you, but I would strongly recommend that you do.
If you do not want to, please at least refrain from using any peer-to-peer programs for the remainder of my fix.

Please do the following:
  • Click on the Start button and then choose Control Panel.
  • Click on the System and Security link.
Note: If you're viewing the Large icons or Small icons view of Control Panel, you won't see this link so just click on the Administrative Tools icon and skip to Step 4.
  • In the System and Security window, click on the Administrative Tools heading located near the bottom of the window.
  • In the Administrative Tools window, double-click on the Computer Management icon.
  • When Computer Management opens, click on Disk Management on the left side of the window, located under Storage.

After a brief loading period, Disk Management should now appear on the right side of the Computer Management window.

Note: If you don't see Disk Management listed, you may need to click on the |> icon to the left of the Storage icon.
Take a screen Shot of the Disk Management Window and attach the screenshot to your reply.
There you go, Btw there is this another problem that sometimes i hear a voice coming form the hard disk like its starting, whenever i open the hard disk after a long time. maybe another day.

I think I have found something, My bit-defender was set at game mode, but when i set to allow only know Ping.exe stopped using the CPU, But when i before starting combofix stopped my antivirus, PING.EXE again was using 100%! So that can't b right something is wrong.
