It looks like the site for the Kaspersky online scanner is down. I could try the ESET scanner again. Here is the VirusTotal log for spybotsd-2.exe. VT Community Sign in ? Languages ? Hi cjdragon,

Yes go ahead and try to run ESET again. How is your computer running?

If it doesn't work you can try Panda ActiveScan

Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan
  • Click on Scan your PCnow button[external image: Posted Image] located at the bottom of the page.
  • A "pop up" window will appear. * Please ensure that your pop up blocker doesn't block it *
  • Enter your e-mail address, country, and state & click "Free Online Scan" *The download of the 8 MB Panda's ActiveX control will take place*
Begin the scan by selecting [external image: Posted Image]
  • If it finds any malware, it will offer you a report.
  • Please ignore any entry it finds and the offer to buy the program to remove the entry, as we will address this later.
  • Click on see report then click save report
* You needn't remain online while it's doing the scan but you have to re-connect after it has finished to see the report.
* Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan

Paste the Panda Scan report.

Ok, I got the ESET scanner to run. However, it is at only 23% complete after 30 hours. I would guess that whatever is causing the CPU usage to stay spiked at 100% is severely slowing it down. Do you think I should go ahead and try Panda?
Hi Hi cjdragon,

It does take awhile for ESET to run but 30 hours is kind of pushing it. Yes go ahead and run Panda.
It looks like I am having the same issue with Panda. I know you mentioned before that after a backdoor infection the computer can never fully be trusted again. At this point I think it would be best to just reinstall the OS. Can you assist me with doing that? Thanks.
