I received a File DANGER WARNING on my Norton scan and cannot find the file.

this is the so called infection / flagged file string.

c:\$recycle.bin\s-1-5-21-1710412745-263810031-1021557032-500-$r256e6b.exe

Norton says its a DANGER and must be removed ! I searched for the file and can not find it on the computer

Search Google and didn't find any related file reports

Scan with malware and it says I'm clean

CAN ANYONE HELP ? Norton can't fix it.

It looks like that file is in your Recycle Bin..

Download TFC to your desktop
  • Close any open windows.
  • Double click the TFC icon to run the program
  • TFC will close all open programs itself in order to run,
  • Click the Start button to begin the process.
  • Allow TFC to run uninterrupted.
  • The program should not take long to finish it's job
  • Once its finished it should automatically reboot your machine,
  • if it doesn't, manually reboot to ensure a complete clean

Download DDS from one of the links below to your desktop

Link 1
Link 2

  • Double click the tool to run it.
  • A black Screen will open, just read the contents and do nothing.
  • When the tool finishes, it will open 2 reports, DDS.txt and attach.txt
  • Copy/Paste the contents of 'DDS.txt' into your post.
  • 'attach.txt' should be zipped using Windows native zip utility and attached to your post. Compress and uncompress files (zip files)
