Hi aconnerty,

Sorry about that. Try this instead…

Run GrantPerms.exe again.
Copy and paste the following in the edit box:

c:\\Program Files\Audible\Admin
c:\\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\Quarantine
c:\\Qoobox\BackEnv
…
Click Unlock. When it is done click "OK".
Click List Permissions and post the result (Perms.txt) that pops up. A copy of Perms.txt will be saved in the same directory the tool is run.

  • Save this as CFScript.txt and change the "Save as type" to "All Files" and place it on your desktop.

    [external image: Posted Image]
  • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before following the steps below. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
  • Referring to the screenshot above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe.
  • ComboFix will now run a scan on your system. It may reboot your system when it finishes. This is normal.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.
CAUTION: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Hi there aconnerty,

Please go to Start > Run > type CMD and press OK and this will open your command prompt window.
Copy/paste the following text in the code box and then press Enter
del c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\certstore.dat /f /q
Close the command prompt window.
————

Those other entries found by ESET are all going to be removed on cleanup of our tools.
————

How is your system running?
When I enter del c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\certstore.dat /f /q, the following message is returned: Could not find c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\certstore.dat Any idea what's going on here?
Hi, Ok…just re-run a Quick Scan on Malwarebytes and anything that comes up select to quarantine. When that is completed post the new Malwarebytes log into your next reply.
OK, no malicious items appeared in the latest scan. It seems like my computer is back to where it was before. What do you think? Hi aconnerty,

You have an older version of Adobe Reader. You can download the current version HERE

You may want to consider Foxit Reader instead. It may be a bit lighter on resources.

Visit their support forum
Foxit Forum

In either case you should uninstall Adobe Reader 8.1.2 first. Be sure to move any PDF documents to another folder first though.

Please now run DDS once more so we can have one last look. Be sure to post both of the logs that are created into your next reply.
