My Dell Studio XPS 1640 (Running Windows 7) suddenly slowed to a crawl a couple of days ago after having run flawlessly for its entire life. Simple things like 'control panel' will take 10 - 20 seconds to open, photo icons in folders will take 30 - 60 seconds to fully show, etc. My internet speeds are excellent, but it can even take IE9 10 - 20 seconds to open. Also, there is often a delay when I'm typing.
I have AVG always running, and I've run CCleaner and Malwarebytes and have found nothing. Have also defragged and did diskcheck (diskcheck only gets to 11% on the 5th of 5 checks everytime I run it…not sure if this is something related to the problem or not).
I would appreciate any and all help. Thanks!
