Can anyone tell me if it is safe to delete the following type of windows files, please. windows temp files, system 32 files\Logfiles\AITEventLogs, PerfLogs\System\Diagnostics\PCName (Performance Logs)Users\User\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\Cache\6.0\.idx files (Temp SunJava Files) C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\HTTPER (.log files); C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\scm\SCM.EVM1 (Windows Temp Folder) C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\WMI\Teminal-Services-Core.etl; C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\WMI\Teminal-Services-RPC-Client.etl. I have others, but if anyone can tell me if I can/cannot delete .idx, .etl, AIT Event Logs, System32 Logfiles and Windows Temp Files, that would be great. Don't want to delete the wrong file\s!! Thanks for reading and in advance for any help offered. hedley
I would be very careful about removing any Windows files at all. The files you mention take up such insignificant space.
Removing windows files can often lead to an OS re-install.

The best thing you can do to keep your PC running smoothly and sharp is to give it a good clean -up using Disk clean-up and leave windows alone to manage itself. A job it does far better than any user.

See Using Disk Cleanup.
