Hi there! So a brief explanation of the issue at hand: I recently got into playing an older game, Diablo 2, in anticipation of Diablo 3. To my excitement I found it to be a pretty awesome game! Things have been running fine for the last week or so, until today, when I was fiddling with my computer for unrelated reasons and I realized that I hadnt updated my graphics card drivers in quite some time. I d/led and installed the new drivers, and a couple hours later went to run Diablo 2, but it wont run now!!! When I try to run it, my screen goes black for a bit, then closes out, and an error message appears that says "Error 25: A critical error has occured while initializing Direct3D". I did a bit of research online, found this to be a fairly common problem, and the best advice I could find was to ensure that both my graphics card driver and directx were up to date. Obviously i just updated my graphics car, and I attempted to update directx as well but actually had a hard time finding the correct place to go to do this. I *believe* i updated it, after finding something called dxwebsetup.exe on the microsoft webpage that seemed to be what I was looking for, but this may not have been the newest version, or even a directx update at all..? I need to ensure that I have everything up to date, and if I do how can I get diablo 2 to work again? I have an Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX graphics card I have Directx 9.0c installed Thanks in advance for your help!
