sorry but to be honest there isn't a lot we can do for you now, it sounds like your hard drive has failed, but unless you can get to a pc and burn some programs to disc there is no way we can verify this.
you can try re-installing the os again and hope you get lucky and it installs correctly this time but that's about all i can suggest now.
to be honest it sounds like it never installed all the files correctly, with that code, might be a cd error when installing(doubt) or like i think a hard drive error..
i'd be thinking your going to need to install a new hard drive and do the install again…
but WAIT for paws to reply first before doing anything else,
he knows a lot more than i do, especially about windows os, so may have some ideas for you to try to get you to a desktop again, maybe a file check/repair.
if he can get you to a desktop again does your pc have a cd/dvd writer drive fitted so you can burn the programs he's already suggested to test your hardware(especially number 9)?? if not do you have a usb drive that you might be able to use to boot them from(depending on your pc)?
hello,
i think it's a cd error because it sometimed work and sometimes doesn't. i don't think it can because its an old pc. is it smart to reinstall again? i today also found an application & support cd of medion, maybe thid is the hard drive or mem test cd.
ps i will wait for paws
Hi, I see that the reinstall failed…. there could be a number of reasons for this…… However:
1 Its important to get the results from the memtest and hard drive checks that you performed….. How did they go?..any problems.
2 To check your hardware in a slightly different way you can download a copy of Linux Puppy, make a bootable CD and boot from it
3 Puppy will be happy to run in memory (RAM) so give it a try… if necessary we can also use Puppy to access your hard drive, but if there is a memory problem then Puppy won't run…
Here's how to do it:
Download Linux Puppy from here: Linux Puppy
[Its a download of just over 100MB, so a broadband connection is advisable for the download… Puppy is an alternative operating system….. it does not need Windows to run, and the licence to use it is free of charge and comes included automatically. It is different in its interface from Windows, but sufficiently intuitive for most folks to use it successfully without problem.
C.) Burn the iso (that you have downloaded) to CD ROM as an "image"…it must be as an image, a copy will not work!……..Imgburn is good for this, available from here: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download NOTE you will need to ask a chum to download and burn the CD if you dont have access to a working computer but do check that they use ImgBurn to create a bootable CD
D.) Switch on your computer ( the one you are having trouble with and Set Bios to Boot from CD as first priority…Your hard drive should be next in priority followed by USB/network if the settings provide these options. Remember to save your altered settings in the Bios before exiting .On some computers and most Dells it's F2 to enter the Bios (set up) otherwise try F12, Esc or Del. NOTE you will need to press the appropriate key (to enter the Bios) immediately after power on.
E.) Boot from the CD, you may get a message to "press any key to continue booting from CD" so allow this, Now follow the on-screen Linux Puppy prompts, they are pretty self explanatory.
Post back the results of your memtest and the hard drive check and also if you can boot into Puppy OK
Regards

hello,
which method fixes stop c000022 1,2…. or a b c…… and i think the medion application & support cd has a hard drive test shall i use this one?
ps i am going to school now
Hi, I think that you are may be misunderstanding the issues here and the steps we are suggesting to help you.
To help solve the problems you are experiencing including the STOP c00002a/22 type errors it is best to first check your memory modules using memtest (step8) and then check your hard drive step 9) you can consider using any Medion disc you have, later on.
Once you have done those steps we will know how to advise you best…if the hardware checks out OK then we can help you with the steps to format and reinstall your operating system. This may or may not not solve the problems, however it is a logical and methodical way of progressing.
Please advise the results of the tests and we can take things further for you.
Regards

in that medion cd there is a system memory test and a hard drive test for errors. shall i use this one instead memtest or the forum.
PS: it's a utility of seatool
pps: it takes to long shall i continue or shut off, still at 3%
Hard Disk tests can take quite a long time. (more than an hour and possibly 2 or 3 hours)
please be patient unless it stays hung at 4% for the next full hour.
If that happens, post back to let us know.
hi,
the test hungs at 4%. it the whole time says "bad sector LBA: 18940670
unable to resolve sector usage.
attempting to write to the sector… FAILED"
there are more of these sort numbers who failed. is it a hdd problem?
ps: i just cancelled, it says PROBLEMS FOUND
It appears that You, Paws, and Terry correctly anticipated that the Hard Drive is failing.
Please forgive me if I am being repetitive, but I must inquire whether or not you have successfully copied and saved the important documents, files and pictures which you may wish to preserve. ?
