Don't know if this should be in Malware removal. Pogo was working last week (with older Java) but this week, get a "Can't connect to server" error in every game. Also IE was crashing. Installed Firefox, Pogo games won't load. Upgraded Java, same problem. Installed Chrome, same problem. Also sometimes Firefox will close unexpectedly. Have run Malwarebytes and nothing found. Any help appreciated.

Hi, KellyB, welcome to WhatTheTech.

Even though MBAM did not find anything I think it would be a good idea to have our malware gurus take a look at your computer to make sure there are not problems. Go to the Spyware / Malware / Virus Removal forum, read the info there and follow the posted directions. Once you receive a clean bill of health, come back here if you have any additional questions or concerns or it turns out not to be a malware problem.

Please be patient as that is a very busy area. If you do not receive a response in 3 days, post a message here: What To Do If You Have No Response In 3 Days?

Ok, back from the malware side. Ken says he doesn't think it's malware, but nothing has changed. Any ideas?

Other than the Java update, did you make any other changes around that time? You could try doing a System Restore to a date before the Java update, see if that makes a difference. What Firewall and Anti-virus do you use? Try disabling them one at a time to see if that makes a difference. Do this only for testing, enable again as soon as you have results. If either is causing the problem then we'll work on fixing it.

It stopped working before the Java update, and IE was crashing which is why we installed Firefox, and then Chrome. It does appear to be Java related because the Pogo page being loaded before the error has .jsp in it, but downgrading the Java didn't fix it. Using Windows firewall and Avast antivirus, and both were disabled during the malware check and doesn't seem to make a difference. Have not tried a System Restore yet. Not sure about any other changes at that time.

Okay, take a look at this thread. It has fixed a lot of Java related problems: http://forums.whatth...h...537&hl=java
