My IE browser has been hijacked, redirects to search pages, and some pop-ups.
When I rebooted, it added a search tool. Ran Ad-Aware which took that out, but
when I run Ad-Aware again it keeps finding coolsearch and some data mining items which it can't seem to remove permantly.

I also ran CWShredder, but it did not find any items to fix. The update button never connects to the site, so I downloaded what I believe is the lastest version, v1.59.1, on a disk from work and brought home, loaded and ran and still no CWS items founde/corrected. Yet CWS lines keep showing up in Ad-Aware.

I ran HiJackThis and got the following log. Please Advise.

THANKS!
I've been hijacked. Ran Ad-aware, spyhunter, and CW Shredder (v. 1.59.1). Shredder says nothing present, Ad-aware keeps finding CWS related files.

I ran Hijackthis and need advise on what to remove:

:( Please help.
Welcome to the forum.

First thing I would do is uninstall these two programs , SpyHunter Spyware-Cop. There not recommended programs to be on your computer. There's other safe alternatives I can give you.
See link below.
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

Next:
Download and unzip AboutBuster to a folder, reboot into safe mode and run the program. You may have to run it a couple of times to remove all the files. Reboot and see how it is.

http://www.downloads.subratam.org/AboutBuster.zip

Reboot and post a fresh log back here using the newest version of HJT 1.98. MrC

http://tools.radiosplace.com/HijackThis.exe
I removed SpyHunter as recommeded. I could not find Spyware-Cop, but did remove Spybot (was it the same thing?). Thanks for the tip and very useful url on bad spyware tools.

It appears that aboutblaster did a good job on the first run. I can open IE mulitple times with no hijack and I'm not seeing any random pop-ups or keyword underlines (those nasty false links to search).

Here's the new log run from HJT 1.98:

I'm I fully clean? Thanks again for your help!
Getting there, Spybot is a GOOD program - you can always reinstall it.

This is the one I was talking about:
[Spyware-Cop] "C:\PROGRA~1\SPYWAR~1\Spyware-Cop.exe" /s
See if it's listed in your add/remove programs - Spyware-Cop, if so uninstall it. If not we'll get it with HJT.

Please move HJT into a new permanent folder (out of that temp folder) and with it only running fix these:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [msan32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\msan32.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Spyware-Cop] "C:\PROGRA~1\SPYWAR~1\Spyware-Cop.exe" /s

Reboot into SafeMode and delete these files:
HowToShowHiddenFiles - if needed
Use ctrl, alt and delete to bring up your task manager and end task on any of these files if they are listed before you delete them.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\msan32.exe<—if it's still there

C:\PROGRA~1\SPYWAR~1<—folder

Reboot and post a fresh log for a final check, MrC
OK. I followed your last instrcutions. msan32.exe did not show up. I deleted the Spyware-cop folder.

Here's the latest HJT log:

Don't open e-mail attachments without first scanning them with an up-to-date
anti virus program, even after doing that I would be very careful. Don't click on any executables in e-mails or any other links that you're not sure of.
Watch your surfing habits, don't click on or download anything you're not sure of. Don't install a program that hasn't been recommended by a reputable organization.
