Malware Removal - Specifically SearchQU 406

Hi,

My laptop has picked up a virus called SearchQU 406. At present the only effect I can determine is that it has changed the Home page in Internet Explorer to SearchQU.com. The laptop appears to be operating as it had been previously but I would like to remove it. I have ran OTL and have included the output from the OTL.txt and Extras.txt file.

I would appreciate any help you could give me.

Hello blackarrow,

IMPORTANT NOTE : Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.
DO NOT use any TOOLS such as Combofix or HijackThis fixes without supervision. Doing so could make your system inoperable and could require a full reinstall of your Operating System and losing all your programs and data.

Vista and Windows 7 users:

These tools MUST be run from the executable. (.exe) every time you run them
with Admin Rights (Right click, choose "Run as Administrator")

Hold down the Windows key and press R to open a run box
type the following text into the run box


appwiz.cpl

This will open your Programs And Features A list of installed programs will populate

Remove the following programs:

iLivid
Windows iLivid Toolbar
Bandoo
vShare Plugin

Please download aswMBR ( 511KB ) to your desktop.
  • Double click the aswMBR.exe icon to run it
  • Click the Scan button to start the scan
  • On completion of the scan, click the save log button, save it to your desktop and post it in your next reply.
