Student about to flunk!

My wife's computer was infected last night Trojan Horse FakeAV and Rogue.Virus. AVG caught the Trojan Horse, but didn't seem to remove it.
Today she has been unable to log on to the net. I downloaded Malware Bytes and Hijack this to a flashdrive and installed them on her computer and ran both. She runs Windows XP and pick ups the net from a Zoom wireless router. I tried to direct connect to her machine with no success. If she can't access the net from her computer, she won't be able to complete her college class assignments…and they'll want money!

Thanks for your assistance!!

I was able to get her back on line today through the router with e-net hook up. I down loaded Spybot and ran it and also checked for any microsoft updates.

I didn't realize that HJT had fallen into disfavor. (I should read closer!) Below is the scan from OTL.

She hasn't been able to access her classes, but we don't know for sure if it is related to this or a problem on their end.
Here are the scans:

Please run a new MBAM scan being sure to check for updates before scanning and post the results.

Please don't attach the scans / logs for these tools, use "copy/paste".

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Thank you for your help! I cannot attest to the performance of this computer, since I have not used it before this. My wife uses it almost exclusively for her college classes. I can add to two changes since the original request. 1. Belkin now shows the Zoom wireless signal is available at a rate of 54Mbps, but it also shows it unlocked. I've got to try to find the instructions to re-lock it. I'm leaving her hooked up direct from the router, but I don't know how to shut down the wireless transmission. 2. The issue regarding access to her college classes appears to be on the university site. It seems a little ironic that she was on one of her classes when the AVG alert came up and now theyshut down the access. Here is the MbAM scan Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.51.0.1200 www.malwarebytes.org Database version: 6863 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702 6/15/2011 2:50:19 PM mbam-log-2011-06-15 (14-50-19).txt Scan type: Quick scan Objects scanned: 192922 Time elapsed: 14 minute(s), 34 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) Thanks again (it'll be nice to get this chihuahua off my ankle!)
Thank you for your help. I consider us lucky that we were that this was an easier fix than anticipated. She was able to access her classes last night, so apparently the university got their act together as well. Any hints on how to resecure the wireless or disable the transmission part? I don't need it for my computer since it is so old that it thinks wireless means "batteries required - not included." :)

Any hints on how to resecure the wireless or disable the transmission part?

I don't but if you start a new topic in our Network forum, I'm sure one of the Tech Team will be able to help you.

You're more than welcome.
Glad we were able to help

Peace be with you :wavey:
