Yes I have posted on this before but am adding these Sandra reports to see if my hardware is ok! Recently my battery had died after having been in a light drizzle with my laptop in my backpack no water seemed heavily in the backpack but it was moist! I am checking to see if all hardware is ok and not possibly contaminated with water damage. I may take it later to be inspected by a repair shop! I am mostly worried about the condition of the mother board and hard drive! Hard drive seems ok, but I get message 10008 replace hard disk when doing a diagnostic from bios but HD tune and all other software diagnostics from windows read that its in perfect health and normal!
Hey mate, First of all, are you getting any issues with your PC following the potential water damage? Or is it that you want to identify issues before they happen. Thanks, Daniel
Hi Jack421,

One of our Members looked up your problem via a search engine and found that you had posted exactly the same problem at several Help Sites.
In fact, the first page of the search identified (9) nine help forums where you have posted, and that was only the first page of the search results.

You did receive a few scolding remarks.
It is common with folks who help in Forums to not appreciate multiple postings.
Many of us work at several Forums and do not appreciate it when we offer a solution at one site, and then have to offer the same solution again and again at other Forums.

Worse yet, one of us here at WTT may be diligently researching how to help you with a solution.
But maybe your problem has already received a solution at another Forum.
Therefore our research efforts here at WTT are wasted.
Not good.

Now I do admit that you are free to post where ever you wish, and as many times as you wish.
You may even get a faster reply from someone that way.
But in general it causes headaches for us Forum Helpers.

Hope you understand.

If you do get a solution that works for you, please post back to this forum and all the other ones where you posted, to let them know your problem has been solved.
And even let them know what the solution was, so that others may also benefit.

If you haven't yet received a solution, then please pick one Forum and stick with them.
Inform the others that you will be pursuing your work at the one Forum, so that they don't duplicate the work needlessly.

Now…. In the first 9 Forums where I read your problem, and the few responses you have received, you have already received some technically sophisticated replies.

BUT… you have only received (1) ONE "safe" reply, and that was from Malwarebytes Forum

Why is it the only "SAFE" reply so far???
Because the helpers insist that you assure that your machine is completely dry BEFORE conducting diagnostic tests.

Why is this important?
Because operating a computer with the possibility of electrical short-circuits caused by water, can damage your machine seriously.

Please know that I respect the Forums and helpers at all of those other listed Help Forum sites.
And some of the diagnostic suggestions are excellent…. if there really is no water in your machine

Why do I think this is important.
a couple of reasons…

Your battery utilities say it cannot hold a charge, but apparently the batter works and no prior problem existed.
Your Hard Drive diagnostics say there is something wrong with the Hard Drive, when you don't think there is actually a Hard Drive problem.
Therefore, you are getting spurious reports from utilities…. NOT GOOD.

If these supposed problems did not exist before the incident, then they are being "caused" by "something".
And that "something" is most likely related to the possible water damage.
______________

Keep your computer TURNED OFF.
Take out the Battery.
If you are technically competent to open up a laptop and work inside, do so to assure that any water invasion gets dried up.
There may not be any water "sloshing around" inside, but if water did invade, then "condensation" may have attached water to places where no water should exist!
If you are not competent to work inside of the case of a laptop…. take it to a professional.

Whatever you do, STOP performing diagnostics until you can be sure that no moisture exists anywhere in or on that machine.

It may take several days to dry completely even if opened for inspection.

Best Regards
