Hi

A couple days ago I unknowingly downloaded malware with a Sun Java update. I have Avira which screamed at me but i couldn't delete or quarantine. I realised that the Hard drive failures etc were fake and used system recovery and got my programs and desktop back. Since then I have scanned with Avira which discovered a few problems and fixed them. I've also used Tracks Eraser, and Registry Fix, used Windows Updates…pretty much everything i can think of really. I've also used scandisk and the Microsoft Windows Memory Diagnostic to check the Ram.

I have noticed that I am still getting google redirects, my windows are becoming inactive even when I'm typing in them such as MSN, and Internet Explorer is trying to run for no reason ( I use Opera usually)

I also play theMMO game World of Warcraft which will not run since the malware problem, it keeps bring up error 132. I'm aware this can have several solutions (I think I've tried them all) but it seems a coincidence the error occurred directly after the malware infection.

Anyway, I'm sending the Hijackthis log in case you find anything that I and all the scans have missed.

Thx for your time :)

Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here to your desktop. It will be a randomly named executable.
  • Double click the exe file.
  • If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan…click on NO, then use the following settings for a more complete scan.

    [external image: Posted Image]
Click the image to enlarge it
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Ensure the following are unchecked
    • IAT/EAT
    • Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
    • Show All (don't miss this one)
  • Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish.
  • Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "Gmer.txt" or it will save as a .log file which cannot be uploaded to your post.
  • Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop, and attach it in reply.

**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<— ROOKIT" entries
