Oh and just one more question before I go, is concealing a potentially deadly weapon (screwdriver, knife of any description firearm etc) a felony in America?? Cos it is in Australia.
We have laws about concealed weapons… but standard pocked knives, and certainly screwdrivers are not considered weapons… concealed or otherwise.
Off topic… but you mentioned firearms and apparently the carrying of a concealed firearm is unlawful in both countries (without a permit) however I suspect that things are a little different here in the USA as open carry of firearms is not unlawful in most of the country. And rifles with at least an 18" long barrel are legally deemed not to be concealable and therefore can be carried under a car seat, wrapped up in a blanket, stowed underneath a duster jacket… where ever, and a person cannot be charged with concealed carry. Local customs vary across the country but in my neck-o-the-woods, open carrying is not all that unusual and a significant percentage of the populace (over 18 years old) legally carry concealed.
ok the brick knocked him out now all we have to do is figure out why and what he was doing before hand. correct?
he was going to rob a kid who threw the brick at him and knocked him out.
Ok he went to throw the brick at a window and it bounced back hitting him in the head knocking him out and thats why the cops arrested him for criminal damage to property or something like that.

our firearm laws are very strict. Firstly they must be stored at all times in a police approved locked gun cabinet unloaded with all ammunition stored in a seperate place. A few years back we had to hand back all our automatic and semi auto guns as they became illegal to own. Yes we have to have a permit to own a gun and that has to be produced to purchase ammunition for it. As for concealed weapons, of course all firearms cannot be concealed but all knives tools anything that can be deemed to be used as a weapon cannot be concealed. Of course tools u would have to be acting suspiciously for anybody to care but knives are a definate no no. Oh and switchblades and some other knives are illegal to own here too i think. But dont quote me on that one.
The store the man was lying in front of was a jewelry store. The window was made with Lexan rather than glass. The "suspect" tried to throw the brick through the window so that he could abscond with the jewels he could see therein. The brick "ricocheted" off of the Lexan and struck the would be thief in the forehead - rendering him unconscious. The man was arrested for Attempted Robbery.
Well done Jimbo1 for arriving at the correct scenario.
To all other participants… thanks for playing along.

Reminds me of the news story I heard only yesterday about probably the most unlucky criminal. Robbed an old lady but was chased down by a witness who happened to be passing nearby at the time. That witness just happened to be the UFC lightweight world champion!
Needless to say, the old lady got her possessions back and the thief was one very sore and sorry dude!
