O/S desnt want to finsh installing

There should be a utility on that CD to wipe the Boot Sector clean. Use it to do so or you will be stuck in that loop again when you try to install XP. When installing XP, and it says "press any key to boot from CD" only do it ONCE. Later it will reboot again and ask you a 2nd time to "press any key to boot from CD". DON'T do it, just let it run. great well am going to try the 3rd post before i use the parts as shooting tragets for my new .17 rifle (i love santa!!)

ok instead of shooting it like i wont to my grandamother suggested re-re-building it byu puting all of the orgainal parts back in it and insttalling the os oh and lee i missed a part of the 3rd post whatt happens if you DONT install the mobo software and what do i do if i dont have the software and what would make letters disaper in the os install like it says P re s a y k y t bo t for C … _ edit: then taking it and puting in the new hardware

nope its just setting here saying
"press any key to boot form cd….._"

If it's the 1st time, OK press any key.

If it's the 2nd time after it auto reboots, don't press a key as it should continue the installation process.

If it is the 2nd. time and it's not going anywhere, I 'm sure there is something wrong with the burned OS disk and you will need a good OS disk.

its the sam cd that i use about 13 days ago to reinstall xp to this laptop am just going to tell my grandmother to buy a new one and take it to stapples to be fixed let them deel with this gd headach….. jeers thx for the help guys

You can download the motherboard software drivers required after the OS is installed. We can help you with that.

my dad refuses to stop working on it were going to strip it and put it togather peices by pices replaceing older parts unitll it bloody works oh were can i get a cable to hook a laptop hd up to a destop?

i feel so stupid
we took the hd out and my dad looked at the pins for 3sec ran out to the grage and graped a needle nose and pulled a pin out that had been mashed in some how
we formated the hd and installed xp NO LOOP it was gone!!!

a bit of perseverance works wonders sometimes,

and always check any physical connections before everything else.

carp** we an't done yet it dosnt have sound and theres something worng with my DritacteX reinstalled DriactX no change also my cd drives will not read any cd
