PS EDIT:
OK. I missed that last post. This reply was for your original post (glad you got a new HDD) and yes, install the mobo software off the disk that came with it.
Hi coulter47,
welcome to WTT
Did you get any BEEP signals except a single one (a post beep)? If so, take careful note of them. Long or short and how many.
For a computer to boot correctly, all components must be compatible, connected properly and not faulty. Just because an item is new, does not mean it is in perfect working order (that's for sure).
What concerns me is that you replaced these hardware items after your computer crashed without finding out why it crashed (?) That's a bit like replacing the tyres on your car because it won't start
I doubt that your motherboard or ram (and certainly not your optical drive), had anything to do with your computer originally crashing. If hardware was the cause , you replaced everything except the most likely suspect, the HDD.
It's a bit late to try and work out what the original problem was.
Now that you have gone this far and are about to install a new OS, it might be a good idea to install a new HDD as well (I would), as it has moving parts, the ram and motherboard didn't.
Check that your CPU and RAM are compatible with your motherboard and check the manual that came with it to make sure everything is correctly connected.
Make sure you leave the case open at the side to be able to check that your CPU heat-sink fan is working correctly when you boot, because if it is not, or is incorrectly connected, you won't get past POST or even to it.
Leave the installed HDD unconnected.
Have 1 stick of ram in the first mobo slot. Leave the other stick out until you are up and running to POST.
If there is a problem, try the other stick by itself in the same slot.
If there is a problem, move the stick to the 3rd. ram slot.
If there is still a problem, replace it with the original stick of ram.
If you can boot to post properly …now connect the HDD and boot with your OS disk in the optical drive.
If you can't boot to the OS disk now, it's probably a faulty HDD.
This procedure tests for a faulty ram stick or a faulty ram slot on your motherboard and is standard practice when putting a PC together with new ram and mobo.
Let us know how you get on.
Cheers,
Lee

non of the ram is falty its been used in the morther board that i put in to it only 1 stick was form the crashed PC 7
but noone aswered one of my ? do you have to use a CD shoftware to install a nnotherboard??
and yes, install the mobo software off the disk that came with it.
But you have to install the Operating system first of course
I'm not sure which operating system you want to install now, XP or W7?
Or both as a dual boot system?
To install XP correctly go here and follow the simple instructions carefully. Scroll down the page and start from this section: "FORMATING PARTITIONING AND INSTALLING" http://forums.whatthetech.com/index.php?showtopic=91962
To install W7 instead, follow the above until you have booted to the disk and then just follow the simple on screen prompts.
If you want a dual boot system with both XP and W7 on your HDD, make sure you install XP first and then return here before you install W7 as well.
Either one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i dont care witch one so long as one of them gets it down windows 7 just failed yet agian!!!!!!!!!!!!
am going through with xp its a faster install thank god for snow or iwould be doing this
amzoing how blind i am just now found the edit botton
What Operating System disks do you have exactly?
No, not XP and W7, but what disks exactly and were they bought copies from a Computer shop, e-bay or whatever?
Are they OEM or Retail versions (expensive) or something you downloaded?
Cheers,
Lee
they were bruined by my dad
the 7 was used in my dads labtop the xp was used in the labatop am on right now when it had crashed and in the othe pc when it crashed the 1st time nothings working am taking it to my dad hell get it running somehow and some day ill ask him what he did and tell you guys
The OS disks were burned by your Dad?
OK, there is your problem solved.
Illegal OS disks which usually crash even after an initially successful ("cracked") install is managed.
We don't offer help here at WTT to get illegal OS disks up and running again.
Cheers,
Lee
Lee, there are some cases where using a copy of someone else's install CD is ok. The only way this is true is if the person installing from the copied disc has their own product key for XP, Vista or Windows 7. If it's a cracked copy then absolutely no way will we help.
coulter47, is this the case with you? Do you have a valid product key for XP if that's what you are trying to install or for Windows 7 if that's what you are trying to install? By valid, I mean can it be activated and will Windows Genuine Advantage certify it as valid?
If yes, then we can continue to assist you. If not then according our Terms of Use we won't.
If you do have a good key then I would suggest re burning the Windows 7 disc using ImgBurn and burn it at 4X only, no faster.
I'm not sure where you stand as far as hard drives go. Please go to the HD manufacturers web site and download their drive utility (SeaTools for SeaGate, Maxblast for Maxtor, etc.). It will be a .iso file that you use to create a bootable CD from. ImgBurn that I gave you the link to above will do this for you. Then boot the Cd and run the short test. If it passes, run the long one. Let us know how you make out.
All this is predicated on you having a valid product key for what you are trying to install.

Someone with copied disks from originals being used by someone else who might have valid keys?
How many PC's can W7 and XP be used on?
I'm not sure about W7, but with XP I'm positive it's one machine only, full stop (?)
Cheers,
Lee
PS: Two faulty HDD's ..one of them new? Yes possible I guess.
