Copying behavior with VPN!

It may just be the behavior of VPN but I have a question: When I copy any text from VPN window (the system to which I am connected through VPN), I am able to paste that text into the system outside of VPN (the system from which I am connected to VPN window) Opposite to that, I am not able to copy any file or folder using the simple copy-paste function between these sysyems...what is the reason for this behavior?
