I have had my Iternet Explorer 8 Hijacked about a week ago but Spybot, Lavasoft and AVG can finmd nothing. I even tried the lates Microsoft tool to no avail. I tried swirchting browsers - Google Chrome, Mozilla and then Safari - but the redirect to randowm sites still goes on. I would like to stick with IE but at this stage might consider anything that puts an end to this hitacking!

I am not a techie but have run hijackthis and this is the notepad result

I would be very grateful for any help

Had to go out and buy a new router as when I reset the existing one as recommended on Malwarebytes forum it packed up. Nevertheless I have now been able to update Malwarebytes and the scan log is as follows:- Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.46 www.malwarebytes.org Database version: 4859 Windows 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Internet Explorer 7.0.6002.18005 17/10/2010 13:03:42 mbam-log-2010-10-17 (13-03-42).txt Scan type: Quick scan Objects scanned: 137325 Time elapsed: 4 minute(s), 29 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) Do you want me to re-do the Goored and TDDSKiller stuff now?
Here goes But I would like to add that since I have had the new router the hijacking seems to have stopped. Given that all these scans seem to find nothing amiss on my pc, could it be that the old router was hacked? If all is OK, ought I restore the Appearance and Personalisation as before? Given that all these scans seem to find nothing amiss on my pc, could it be that the old router was hacked?

Yes

If all is OK, ought I restore the Appearance and Personalisation as before?

Yes

I don't see anything bad

You may wish to try StartupLite. Simply download this tool to your desktop and run it. It will explain any optional auto-start programs on your system, and offer the option to stop these programs from starting at startup. This will result in fewer programs running when you boot your system, and should improve performance.
