I have a ECS main board with an AMD Athlon XP 240+ Processor, 1gb ram, I am running Windows XP Home. I Use Fix It for antivirus/antispyware and also Spybot, Zone Alarm, Advanced Systems Care and Superantispyware Run Spyhunter. I Just re-upped the Spyhunter and had to update from Version 3 to version 4. Upon running Spyhunter 4 it gave me a pop-up windo as below: I don't know what the "127.0.0.1 hausaufgaben-referate.de" is and have not been able to find a clear definition of it on the web. Spyhunter hasn't helped either. What is this and what should be done?

Spyhunter has Remved : C:\wimdows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts 127.0.0.1 hausaufgaben-referate.de
and added: C:\wimdows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts 127.0.0.1 hausaufgaben?referate.de and is asking me to either accept the change or restore the original.
charlie007,

That is just an entry placed in your hosts file by spyhunter. I don't know why it would want to change it so I'd select Restore the original

What it is is a "known" site that will contaminate your system. I don't even know if the site still exists. I believe it was a site where students would often "cheat" on papers by downloading pre-mades. Having that entry in your hosts file keeps you from being rerouted there.
