service and controller app has stopped

hi, I am using 32bit vista ultimate edition, which recently encountered a problem of service and controller app malfunctioning. Whenever I try to switch on wireless adapter two warnings pop out 1) windows has encountered a serious problem and will shut down in 1 min. please save your work before the system restarts. 2) system and controller app has stopped functioning. I have gone through a recent topic whatthetech where the same problem was discussed, but since i think that the problem could be different, I am seeking your help.

There is a good possibility you have picked up some kind of malware, possibly a rootkit. Go to the Spyware / Malware / Virus Removal forum, read the info there and follow the posted directions. Once you receive a clean bill of health, come back here if you have any additional questions or concerns or it turns out not to be a malware problem.
