Yesterday suddenly my lab computer started behaving abnormally. It had all necessary security apps. Updated Windows, updated KIS, Autorun disabled and every thing. But It started hanging when I started the PC and opened Origin 7.5 software. I didn't think it was a malware attack because everything was right before shutdown last day. I went to safe mode and every thing was fine there, Origin was working good there. So, returing back to normal mode uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it, but even after trying several times. I could not complete the installation. System started hanging as soon as installation went to 100%. I tried everything performed disk check, cleared junk files, run Disk defragmenter, checked system files, but nothing helped. Atlast I went on for system restore, and restored the PC to the system check point of the previous day. After that problem solved partially, origin was still showing some error but hanging problem was not there. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled Origin and everything solved. Moreover after system restore KIS was showing error about corrupted database and told me to repair the installation. I got so much annoyed that I uninstalled it and installed Avast free. Didn't got a clue why all these happened. I have also observed similar problem in past in other computers. Please share your thoughts here…!! :friends:
No clue what went wrong there, wow though, I mean you restored it to the day before and it worked? Computers can be so weird some times. If I were you I would back up my system and files on recovery discs (just did that the other week myself) that way if things get real screwy you will at least still have that. I wonder if the hard disc is damaged. Did you check to make sure it wasn't over heating any? LOL now this is going to drive me nuts till I know what the problem is! Maybe a registry error?

yes.

Recovery disk, it is not there in that desktop. I could have made a disk image though… May be I should do that right now….

Hard disk damage. But then problems will start all of a sudden… I am not sure…
Over heating… I didn't check. But problem started after I started the cpmputer after it was shut down for about 12 hours.
Registry error may be the most possible reason… Sometimes that thing went weird…
