Hi WTT. I bought a Sanyo projector (model No. is PLC-XE30 and chassis number is PZ5-XE3000 just in case it's needed) a while back and i've managed to lock myself out of it. By that I mean that I was changing the settings for remote frequency (there's 2 options and i chose the wrong one) when i tried changing it back, i went to the wrong option (this one being "On Board Buttons ON/OFF) and managed to turn the onboard buttons off so now, nome of the on board buttons will work and the remote is on the wrong frequency so i can't access it that way. I have to pull the plug to turn the projector off (i know this is dangerous as the bulb could explode so i've used it only once or twice since i locked myself out) If i take the VGA cable out, it counts down from 5 mins and i daren't let it get to 0 because i don't think it'll turn back on. The last time i did connect it to the mains, all the fans ran at full speed for about 3-5 mins and then it turned on. How would i go about resetting ALL the settings so that i can use the projector again? Thanks in advance Duey

I have never touched such a unit, but a search of the manual show a reset button to the left of the USB port, not sure if this is what you need, but heres hoping, although they do say not to use it unless you have to, maybe you can check your manual and see if you think this will help.

The RESET button was the first thing i tried (about 8 months ago) but i don't know if to just press it with the projector either on or off, or if i need to hold the reset button for a specific period of time. also, i do not have the instruction manual as it was given as a gift from work. (it was collected from a school that was being knocked down)

Any further ideas?

I can only talk generically here, but my best guess would be a bit like a CMOS reset, pull the mains lead, then press the reset button for say 30 seconds (probably overkill), then hopefully plug it back in and off you go, heres hoping anyway, if you want a manual you can download one at the following link.

thanks,

your suggestion didn't work but the link you provided DID help, on p47 there was the section i was after

If the top control accidentally becomes locked and you
do not have the remote control nearby, disconnect the
AC power cord from the AC outlet, and then with
pressing the SELECT button, reinsert the AC power
cord. This will cancel the top control lock.

This worked a charm and can now reset all the settings i need to

Thanks once again! :D :woot:

I knew you'd have the answer somewhere, you usually do!

whats wrong (if you don't mind me asking, of course)? n.b. i've had a quick gander (look) at your profile so i know you are "disabled, facing life in a wheelchair". but it seems that it doesn't bother you too much.

i could PM if you prefer...

Basically the whole house is down with a stomach bug, but with the state of my health it has hit me like a pile driver, in simple terms take a persons average cold, such a cold to me is the equivalent of a healthy persons worst ever flu, I was even rushed to hospital once with that I was so bad, but crud happens, I just deal with it lol.
