Frequently lately when I try to open a document (not always the same one), a message comes up on AVG to say that tracking cookie 'tacoda' was found on opening. The actual message is as follows: File Name C:\Documents & Settings\Name\Cookies\name@tacoda[2].txt. If I click on 'go to file' sometimes this will open the cookies file with the named file highlighted and I delete it both in cookies and in AVG. More often clicking on 'go to file' brings up a message that 'The path does not exist or is not a directory'. Clicking on more information brings up message 'Location C:\ProgrammeFiles\InternetExplorer\iexplore.exe'. Can anyone tell me if this is a fault/virus in Internet Explorer 7 that can/can't be fixed? Also, on running Spybot S&D I have an infection comes up: 'Problem: Windows.Security.InternetExplorer. Kind: 1 entry Security.' Data: Registry Change. On clicking 'jump to location' it goes to a registry key under HKEY_USERS. Could the two issues be related? There are 3 different key numbers etc in this location and I can give exact details of what's under each if they would help resolve the issue. I don't want to use up someone's time with insignificant info if it's not needed. If any more info is needed, please ask. Thanks for reading and in advance for any help offered. hedley

Hedley, Do you use an AOL account? AOL purchased Tacoda behaviorl tracking software a few years back. ______________ "Cookies" by their very nature are for temporary use when interacting with websites. While it is "convenient" to allow cookies to persist and assist with user-recognition, it is perfectly safe to delete your cookies and other temporary internet files, on a regular basis.
