Here's how to do that:
Click Start > Run type Notepad click OK.
This will open an empty notepad file:
Take your mouse, and place your cursor at the beginning of the text in the box below, then click and hold the left mouse button, while pulling your mouse over the text. This should highlight the text. Now release the left mouse button. Now, with the cursor over the highlighted text, right click the mouse for options, and select 'copy'. Now over the empty Notepad box, right click your mouse again, and select 'paste' and you will have copied and pasted the text.

It sounds to me that your power supply in your computer doesn't have enough power to power up everything as needed.
When you finish the below all clean post I suggest you start a new topic in our Hardware Forum and have one of the Tech Team work with you on that. I suggest you put this in your topic.
The computer is running ok once up and running. When i first switch on it is not powering the monitor. The monitor will turn on but then will say 'rgb no input' or display a scrambled screen or nothing at all. To get it on i either have to keep switching on and off by the monitor switch until i get lucky with a screen, or keep switching off and on at the plug if the monitor cant be turned off on the monitor switch. The dvd drive is choosing when it wants to respond. will play some discs but not others. This becomes a problem when im trying to install new things like my new internet router - this came with a disc that did not work, so tried another one which also did not get recognised. this also happens with music cds, recognising some but not others. Since these scans have been done my internet connection seems to have changed. Although now i have looked it up to tell you about it it seems to have changed again, i did have a net adapter connected all of a sudden with an ip address and 'demonware' both listed and checked and said i had been connected for 3 days - but it seems to have gone now so i suppose i shouldnt worry about it now
Do this now.
Good job
The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:
- Click START then RUN
- Now type ComboFix /Uninstall in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.
- [external image: Posted Image]
To be on the safe side, I would also change all my passwords.
Here's my usual all clean post
Log looks good
- Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:
- From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
- Click once on the Security tab
- Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
- Click once on the Custom Level button.
- Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
- Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
- Change the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
- Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
- Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
- Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
- When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
- If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
- Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.
- Update your AntiVirus Software - It is imperative that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week
(Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.
- Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer.
Without a firewall your computer is succeptible to being hacked and taken over.
I am very serious about this and see it happen almost every day with my clients.
Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly.
- Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly.
This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer.
If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site
until there are no more critical updates.
- Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly.
Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.
Only run one Anti-Virus and Firewall program.
I would suggest you read How to Prevent Malware:
