Hi dwoods912,

lot of things were changed before…windows looked like older version…different colors, etc.

Is that still a problem or have they reverted back to normal?

You ran MBAM, I'd like to see the log.

Open MBAM
  • Click on the Logs tab
  • Locate the most recent log and click on it
  • Click open
Please post the contents of the notepad that opens.

Unless XXXXX is a legitamate user name, it going to be difficult to remove file/folders if we need to.

You have an odd named folder, igpayd. Unless you recognize this folder we will see if we can get a peek inside.

Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.
Download Mirror #1
Download Mirror #2

  • Right click SystemLook.exe and select "Run as Administrator"to run it.
  • Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield
  • Do not copy the word CODE , please note the script starts with the :
    :dir
    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\igpayd
  • Click the Look button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
Note: The log can also be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt

Please post back with
  • MBAM log
  • SystemLook log
We'll take it from there.

Thanks
The settings were changed after a windows update, not sure if it was a legit update but I changed them back. MBAM took forever to run…didn't finish the scan. On reboot I got msg that windows blocked MBAM from running on start-up not getting that msg anymore igpayd was hopefully removed by MBAM here's the system look scan SystemLook v1.0 by jpshortstuff (29.08.09) Log created at 15:03 on 16/01/2010 by ****** (Administrator - Elevation successful) ========== dir ========== C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\igpayd - Parameters: "(none)" —Files— None found. —Folders— None found. -=End Of File=- Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.42 Database version: 3372 Windows 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Internet Explorer 7.0.6001.18000 1/6/2010 10:46:50 PM mbam-log-2010-01-06 (22-46-50).txt Scan type: Full Scan (C:\|) Objects scanned: 238209 Time elapsed: 109 hour(s), 12 minute(s), 21 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 1 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 2 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\fxwaedpw (Spyware.Passwords) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. Hi dwood912

| 231.42 Gb Total Space | 108.11 Gb Free Space |

That would indicate that there was just over 100GB to scan. MBAM should not have taken that long.

When you ran MBAM, was it by right click and "Run as Administrator"?

That folder was created on Dec 25. MBAm removed what was in the folder. We will take care of the folder later.

Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. Note: If you are having difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, or are unsure as to what programs need to be disabled, please refer to the information available through this link : How to Disable your Security Programs
  • Right click on ComboFix.exe, click Run as Administrator & follow the prompts.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

1.Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser.
3. Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you – please tell your helper.
4. CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

Please post back with the combofix log.

Thanks

Hi dwoods912,

Okay we'll clean up our tools

From your desktop, please delete
  • any notepads/logs that we created
  • merg.exe (renamed GMER)
  • GMER.zip
  • SystemLook.exe

From within windows explorer you can delete this folder

C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\igpayd

Make sure Spyware Doctor is indeed uninstalled as it sill shows as installed.

Next

Click the Start button (lower left of your screen), click Run. Copy and paste the following line into the run box and click OK

Combofix /uninstall

Open OTL then click the Clean Up button. You may get prompted by your firewall that OTL wants to contact the internet - allow this. A cleanup.txt will be downloaded, a message dialog will ask you if you want to proceed with the cleanup process, click Yes. This will do some clean up tasks and delete some of the tools you have downloaded plus itself.

I suggest you keep MBAM. Keep MBAM updated and use it regularly.
