It was blank?

Could you click here to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'. If you already have CWShredder, click 'Check for update' and make sure you are running version 1.59.1 Reboot when done.

Click here to download Ad-Aware and install. Before scanning click on "check for updates now" to make sure you have the latest reference file. Then click the gear wheel at the top and check these options:

General> activate these: "Automatically save log-file" and "Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal"

Scanning > activate these: "Scan within archives", "Scan active processes", "Scan registry", "Deep scan registry", "Scan my IE Favorites for banned sites" and "Scan my Hosts file"

Tweaks > Scanning Engine> activate this: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

Tweaks > Cleaning Engine: activate these: "Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion" and "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."

Click "Proceed" to save your settings, then click "Start", make sure "Activate in-depth scan" is ticked green then scan your system. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".

Reboot when done. Rescan with HJT and post a new log here for a final check over.
Nope - I asked for the value in the AppInit_DLLs key. There would either be a file name in there or it would be blank - it isn't clear from your response what you found. Did you run the other two programs?
Sorry for the last two messages. Your tasking was not visible or did not post until I sent the reply of "Are you still available for advice? It has been a while with no response. " I am not sure why this happened however, I will continue with your previous instructions and then reply back. Thank you for your valuable time.
Daemon,
"Appinit_Dlls" 'Value' field was empty. Sorry for the confusion. Also, I have run Spybot, Ad-aware, and CWshredder in the past (several times) which gives me back my own home web page for a few hours only to be overtaken by "about:blank" soon after. I have done exactly as you have asked and once again I have the home page of my choice however, I am sure that it is only a matter of time before its back. Here is my latest HJT log:

You'll probably find it better this time as we have removed the hidden hijacker. Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {A9030C34-2A96-461C-9192-DD3D4B75191E} - c:\windows\system32\nmdk.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Remndr] "C:\Program Files\CasinoOnline\CsRemnd.exe"

Click here, for instructions on how to enable hidden files and folders to be visible. After enabling, reboot into safe mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded, find and delete the following:

C:\Program Files\CasinoOnline\ <– folder

Reboot when done, rescan with HJT and post a new log here for a final check over.
You are a forum God! How do I prevent this from ever happening again? Should I use a firewall? Here is my latest HJT log. Again, thank you!
