I want one of those water suspended nanoparticle tunable metamaterial invisibility cloaks. B)
http://www.newscient...lity-cloak.html

I'd probably only use it for practical jokes to get back at the people who know that my hearing has deteriorated over the years and therefore enjoy walking up behind me to tap me on the shoulder. I hate that!

I worked a lot of years in the lumber mills to earn my poor quality hearing.
It just ain't fair for folks who know that, to make me leap out of my skin by sneaking up on me.

So I'll be in line to purchase one of the first J.K. Rowlings units.
Then them people's had just better watch out for pay-back. <_<

The fluid proposed by Ji-Ping Huang of Fudan University in Shanghai, China, and colleagues, contains magnetite balls 10 nanometres in diameter, coated with a 5-nanometre-thick layer of silver, possibly with polymer chains attached to keep them from clumping.

Yep, I always thought that clumping would be a big problem with this whole thing!! :D
