Hi. I fit true to my user name…. I run a mac tiger os x 4.0, with Winscan, the default anti-virus from cox, and some other ones when I use Firefox like Ghostery, Better Privacy. Now when I go log in, my yahoo is being redirected to m.yahoo.com as opposed to my only one. It will not let me change, or update any info. They also changed my permissions on that account, so any updates, or changes get sent back to the email, that appears to be being remotely accessed.
I downloaded an update from the Mac home page, for a scanner called protect mac anti virus. It showed 36 trojans, all self extracting, or self executing (if same thing I'm sorry, just don't know). I was able to delete most, but it would not let me delete all, then froze up. The other files had auto executing copying files, under the .exe as well.
When I enter and search, being both online, and offline, I can not locate the files period. Every scan I have run on each folder, even going through Limewire files, show nothing, yet problem still there, and I can not delete Limewire, or the Protectmac tool.
My main concern is I do have very sensitive tools, that I can not reach the owner, or my contact about, regarding a program called internet predator tracker, that has every tool in the book, and some that are not available to the public…. Not even sure if my safety is at risk….
It is an automated dummy proof program, for non pro geeks like myself. I have extensive computer research skills, and know how to "tweak" them to track info for law enforcement, or major lawsuits, but that is on software others created. So while I can do a lot on a computer it's through the programs created by others. I am learning, but do not know Java script, or many other tools, or how to find hidden items on my own system. Please help!
Other measures I have taken was to rename my system, not allow any access through bluetooth, or mac users unless they are a member of my system's group. All others ways of sharing, file transfers, and remote access, have been turned off, so I have no idea how they even got on….
