I have recently begun having the computer make sudden random reboots. I will get a blue screen for an instant, way way too fast to see what it says then the computer shuts down and reboots back to log in screen. The only things for certain I can say is that I can make it happen every time I try to launch IE. It has happened at other times but seems to be mainly related to IE somehow. I am sending this using Firefox. I can also say that when I initially tried to use Firefox to get on the net, none of my message boards, e-mail, Facebook etc. would accept my log in name and password. I finally saw an error on one of the pages something about my browser not accepting cookies. I had never changed anything from the default settings but was able to find that setting from Tools-Options-Privacy and checked the box to allow Cookies from Sites. I use Avira (free version), Iobit 360, Malwarebytes, A2Free and Spyware Blaster for my AV and spyware apps and all are kept current and run at least weekly. I also use Advanced System Care Pro and CCleaner for other system tools and maintenance. It may have nothing to do with a jack of my IE browser but I just never had an issue where launching the browser made the entire computer immediately reboot. I can access the internet otherwise from my other software and Firefox so I just don't know. Figured I would start here. One other issue is that the most recent Microsoft update last Tuesday included updates for my Microsoft Office 2002 and none of those would install. That is a 2002 software package and I decided to just uninstall the whole thing and use something else more current but neither Windows, RevoUninstaller nor CCleaner could access the software to uninstall, error 86 or something like that. I have tried to run RootRepel and DDS as suggested from your site but neither seem to be compatible with Vista Home Premium 64 bit. It has been a while so maybe things have changed, seems you used to have instructions for posting a HJT log but I am missing it somehow I guess. I have at least posted a Malwarebytes log but not sure what else you need at this point. Is there anyway to get the BSOD to not flash so fast so I can see what it is saying right before the computer reboots? Thanks in advance :). What version of IE are you using? A lot of the tools we use won't work with 64bit.

Remove IE8 and see if that doesn't solve the problem
