My friend got this weird offer by Google on how to make money online. He eventually received a cd in the mail that was supposed to describe what the job duties and requirements are...but as he read through, he realized that it still didn't explain anything about the "job". I went online to look up this "google tool kit" and a bunch of links came out about fraud. Does anyone know about this?

In general, these are pyramid schemes and phishing tactics to gather information about you and whoever else you may give up to the originator of the plan. Google ads do pay money "per click" and many people utilize them on their websites believing they will get revenue. But you have to have a very busy site before it starts making sense to use third-party and randomized advertisement. Otherwise you may be giving, but not receiving much. "work at home" plans generally benefit the owner more than the worker.

I figured it could have been some sort of pyramid scheme because I knew about the Google ads, but the tool kit didn't really made sense( I told my friend to change his bank info because unfortunately he gave up that information before I had a chance to tell him anything) but how do people get away things like this and also get away with putting "Google" in their name ?

They have no shame, and they switch ISPs frequently.
