Hello,

I am running Windows XP and Firefox 3.0.11. I wrote into this forum a couple months ago because of a sketchy application that appeared on my computer. Tomk helped me do some clean-up and we got rid of some trojans. My computer seemed to be functioning normally again.

Now I find the machine is running slow–taking a long time to load the desktop when I boot up, taking a long time to open applications. I was also not able to resolve a problem of losing hard drive space. It seems to keep disappearing while I'm not looking. 9 of the 10 GB on my hard drive are taken up. To the best of my knowledge it should be showing me about half that. I am not much of a downloader–music, movies, photos… all rare for me. I transferred many of my personal photos to a USB key last summer, and when I did I could see that I had half the hard drive free.

Is there any way for me to see on my hard drive which folders or sections are taking up the most space?

I have attached a HijackThis log.

Thank you,
RainyDayInParis

Welcome back RainyDayInParis,

This doesn't sound like a malware problem so I suggest that you post your question in the Windows Forum and let the Tech Team guide you. They're much more knowledgeable about this sort of thing than I am. Please post a link there back to this thread so that they have access to your HJT log in case there is information that can help them.

Does this make sense to you?
