Ken - it's two different computers - I haven't been to my Girlfriends in a bit but I will respond on that computer when I go over there Monday. This is my computer at my house, not my girlfriends. ** Not to be a pest - but it says part of it in my topic title - "Different computer from last topic, one's my GF's mom's, this is mine"
Hello Aton,

I read that about being another computer, but you have to understand that we are just a small band of volunteers that work these forums and the amount of posts we get each day is mind blowing, when someone posts a log and we take the time to analyze it, work up a fix, and then get no response from the poster we usually just close the thread.

I will leave the other one open for now, as to not get confused we will just work on this one .

Go to your Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall Viewpoint, it installs without your knowledge or consent, is considered Adware, uses system resources and is not needed for anything.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune to your desktop.

I have a question though - the last time I had a problem I found like 30 instances of Vundo and had to Quarantine them. Are they still on my computer and on lockdown or are they still running free?
Aton, What program did you use to scan for Vundo that quarantined them? Maybe that's what Avira found because there is no Vundo on your HJT log and if it was present Malwarebytes would have found and removed it. If there in Quarantine than they can do no harm.
I used MBAM - it has about 20 objects in its Quarantine all from 4/26/09. Avira picked up 2 stray files that I deleted - but it still feels like the computer is running slow. I checked the 2 stray files' paths and they didn't match any in Quarantine
Open the Quarantine folder in Malwarebytes and delete it all.

Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • DDS.com
  • DDS.scr
  • DDS.pif
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results, click no to the Optional_Scan
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the
tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.
