Go here to run an online scannner from ESET.
Note: You will need to use Internet explorer for this scan
Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
Click Start
When asked, allow the activex control to install
Click Start
Make sure that the option Remove found threats is unticked, and the option Scan unwanted applications is checked
Click Scan
Wait for the scan to finish
Use notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
Copy and paste that log as a reply to this topic.
Well good news it worked without issues unlike everything else we have tried lol. Besides the fact it took over 9 hours… Well here you go! :D ESETSmartInstaller@High as CAB hook log: OnlineScanner.ocx - registred OK # version=6 # iexplore.exe=8.00.6001.18702 (longhorn_ie8_rtm(wmbla).090308-0339) # OnlineScanner.ocx=1.0.0.5863 # api_version=3.0.2 # EOSSerial=f00c3863c0d6a54ca1cc98b4da7b11cf # end=finished # remove_checked=false # archives_checked=false # unwanted_checked=true # unsafe_checked=false # antistealth_checked=true # utc_time=2009-05-25 04:40:04 # local_time=2009-05-24 11:40:04 (-0600, Central Daylight Time) # country="United States" # lang=9 # osver=6.0.6001 NT Service Pack 1 # compatibility_mode=3587 61 100 94 14703733314175 # compatibility_mode=5889 61 66 100 424980855989433 # scanned=174099 # found=1 # cleaned=0 # scan_time=33028 C:\Users\Tim Beets\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5\X1AUKGMV\setupxv[1].exe ———————————————————————— Also I just noticed this new folder named : 32788R22FWJFW It has Erunt and combo fixed files in it. Does this mean combo fixed installed? Im not sure, has a lot of files in it though, including ones named Combo fix, Erunt, and safeboot.
Delete this file
C:\Users\Tim Beets\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5\X1AUKGMV\setupxv[1].exe

Delete this Folder

C:\Users\Tim Beets\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5\X1AUKGMV

Reboot and see if Combofix will now run
Ok it still didnt do what your instructions say but… I noticed when I run it a folder in my C drive is created named : 32788R22FWJFW. It contains files named Erunt and Combo Fix and SafeBoot. And it makes a new folder named that when ever I try to run Combo Fix.
Nope no text files for ComboFix. Only txt files are in the License folder. Curl License, Dumphive license, EXTRACT, FI license, mtee.txt, and Zip - License.
Open taskmanager > at the top left, click File> New Task> copy paste this in or type it in:
REGSVR32 APPWIZ.CPL <–Note the space between the words, it needs to be there
run it

Restart PC and let me know if you have the control panel
The module "appwiz.cpl" was loaded but the entry point DllRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that "APPWIZ.CPL" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.
1) Launch services.msc from a run command 2) Find the SLUNotify service & stop it 3) Find the Software Licensing service & stop it (it may say that ReadyBoost needs that service to run; stop it anyway) 4) Restart both services, starting with Software Licensing If neither service is running, start them. set them both to Automatic Startup
Ok I did that. But didn't see a change in anything. SLUNotify was set to manual so I changed that to auto stoped and restarted both like you said, Software first.
