Hello! Sorry i dont have a DDS log, which is one of the many problems i have. When i try to load command prompt it says it cannot be found, and it says that when i try to load DDS. Also… I have tried a system restore which failed… norton only scans in safe mode but didnt find anything. Spybot S&D wont load at all and i cant reinstall it, says it wont connect to the server. Also, i cant get into Control Panel, not from the start menu anyway, it says explorer.exe problem, but i can get to it other ways. Some web sites wont connect, and sometimes re-routes me to a google issue page.

I have never used HJT and greatly appreciate the help, I will give you what i can. I really hope this can be fixed because i really dont want to reformat the laptop. Thank you for the time and help.

Stay with this topic until I give you the all clean post.

You might want to print these instructions out.

1. These tools MUST be run from the executable. (.exe)
2. With Admin Rights (Right click, choose "Run as Administrator")

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner
Right-click ATF-Cleaner.exe and select "Run as administrator" to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Then:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

  • Right-click mbam-setup.exe, select "Run as administrator" and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.
Also "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.
The malwarebytes website wont work for me, "Address not found". On firefox and IE. But ATF wroked fine. I went and found Malwarebytes download elsewhere and it doesnt load at all. The computer thinks for a second and does nothing, Ive tried before in safemode with no luck.

Anyways here is HJT log tho.

1. These tools MUST be run every time you run them from the executable. (.exe)
2. With Admin Rights (Right click, choose "Run as Administrator")

Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. Note: If you are having difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, or are unsure as to what programs need to be disabled, please refer to the information available through this link : Protective Programs

  • Right click on ComboFix.exe, Run as Administrator & follow the prompts.

Note: Combofix will run without adding the Windows Recovery Console

  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

[external image: Posted Image]

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.
"copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread as well.

Notes:

1.Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser.
3. Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you – please tell your helper.
4. CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

Give it atleast 20-30 minutes to finish if needed.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Sorry more problems. :( CombiFix loads good, the loading bar loads all the way, computer thinks for a little bit, then all the desktop items flash and then nothing more happens. I do have norton disabled, as well as windows defender, and as for windows firewall (which I didnt see on the list but attempted to disable anyways) I get an error trying to open the settings to shut it off.
Well its getting better thats the plus. I Dont seem to be re-directed anymore for the time being. But still cant run norton or spybot. Also command promt "Cannot be found" and control panel dont work, "Application not found" I am missing Windows Update from start menu too. When i log into my computer norton window pops up and says " Security risk found. Backdoor.Trojan. No action taken"
When you disabled the security programs, did you disable SpyBot as well? Did you Right Click on combofix and run as Administrator?
Yes ran as admin, I cant open spybot so i just uninstalled it for now. But ComboFix still doesnt work, just does the same as before.
Delete the combofix you have now.

Then lets try this one:

NOTE: worksnow is actually Combofix renamed so user is able download and run Combofix

Download worksnow from HERE:

* IMPORTANT !!! Save worksnow to your Desktop

  • Right Click on worksnow & follow the prompts.

Got an error message. Windows cannot find C"\Users\Jordan\AppData\Local\Temp\F560.tmp\Prep.cmd. Make sure you typed the came correctly and try again.
Yes I did. Could the issue be because my command prompt wont open? Says it cannot be found when i try to open it in run.
