I was installing xp onto my computer. when it goes to install, it's giving me a setup log error, saying not all the files are there. how to i restart the setup completely? or how do i wipe without a operating system?? thanks
thanks, but that's not it. while installing the os, i had a problem. so now when it starts up it goes into the windows xp setup, like halfway though and gives me an error. i was wondering if there is a way to completely restart the setup.
Angi, the link Manic provided does have the information you need. Scroll down until you see

FORMATING PARTITIONING AND INSTALLING

Follow directions from there on down. This will allow you to do a Clean Install which starts by formatting the drive/partition (C:) where you will install XP to. That way there will be nothing there and it will be a clean install.
